Who Is Frigo In Pokemon

JR France

JR worked for a month in Brazil, in the Providencia slum in Rio de Janeiro.
This setting he favored a meeting with women for whom crime, violent loss of a neighbor and the arbitrary enforcement authorities as part of their daily lives.
El Morro da Providencia is the oldest and most dangerous slum in Rio. He was recently the scene of the death of three innocent young teens because of the war opposing the corrupt local authorities (police, navy) and the drug traffickers who harbors. When photographing women
backgrounds and different generations, are particularly interested in its history and to delimit their way of life in the context of a latent conflict. Each portrait is evidence of the expression of the life of these women.

All portraits printed in huge formats are installed with the help of the community on the walls of the favela, which gives JR a face that suddenly unites hill and asphalt.
The implementation of this action completely independent of any external financing and / or institutional sponsorship was made possible by the confidence of local photographer Mauricio Hora, born and raised on Providence and Rosiete Marinho, another emblematic of the places and community.

JR is 25 and owns the largest art gallery in the world. Exhibits
freely in the streets, calling the attention of people who are not regular visitors to the museums. His work mixes art and action, speaking of commitment, freedom, identity and limit. It calls itself the "artivista" concentrate, artist and activist.
ago dpi photographs of people. Use the black and white to make a difference with color advertising aggression.

ago in 2005 "Portrait of a Generation" , portraits of young people in huge formats, which are installed in the old neighborhoods of Paris (Portrait of a generation, ED. Alternativas).

In March 2007, performed with Marco Face2Face project, the largest illegal EXPOFOTOGRAFÍA the world: eight Palestinian and Israeli cities and the security barrier / wall separating the two territories. There are mounted huge portraits of Palestinians and Israelis face to face. Through this project, JR showed that art could push back the limits of possibility.
The photographer does not give interpretations and leaves a space for an encounter between a subject / protagonist and a guide / interpreter. Surprise and JR raises the question, everyone can review their practice of thought and free of stereotypes and prejudices. JR is about why it works: ask questions.
The 3 rd stage of the project 28 mm, "Area Women Heroes", went to Africa in conflict areas to photograph his women, you want to share painful stories and to test their desire to live. His portraits were installed in Sierra Leone and Liberia. In 2008-2009, JR will develop this project in India and Asia.
